Seasonal Concrete Carpenter

Works with other, more experienced carpenters to perform general carpentry work, building rough wooden structures such as concrete forms, scaffolds, tunnel and sewer supports, and temporary frame shelters. Specific duties include: pour and screed concrete to grade and straight edged; erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level; hang ledgers, overhang brackets, and decking with either plywood or steel forms; tying rebar; forming slabs, columns and walls for concrete pours; lay out footings, walls, boxes, dowels, etc.; form using the Aluminum Gang Form, Simons, EFCO, and Stick Frame Wood Forms forming systems; and other related duties as assigned.

No education required. 6 months experience as a carpenter or related occupation required. In lieu of the 6 months of experience as a carpenter or related occupation, employer would accept either an associate's degree (or equivalent) or a suitable combination of education, training, and experience that it deems to be equivalent to 6 months of experience as a carpenter or related occupation.

Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds. Must have the ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Must have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Must have the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
