The claims clerk is responsible for processing claims during live racing and creating daily DVDs for owners and to archive.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure claims box is operational for all claims races.
In accordance with Minnesota racing rules, verify that the information on the claims slip is accurate.
Send the claims slip to Stewards along with any errors.
Record live races for distribution to owners and for archiving.
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with numerous responsibilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain a calm, composed presence in an often challenging environment where multiple tasks and events may occur simultaneously.
The highest of moral integrity and a strong work ethic.
Must be able to pass Canterbury Park's pre-employment screening which includes a criminal background check and verification of work history.
Must be able to attain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.
At least One (1) year of experience as a Claims Clerk.
Accredited through ROAP.
