We are currently looking for a Delivery Driver to serve as an integral part of our organization by delivering fuel locally to our customers. As a Delivery Driver, you will have access to a challenging career that gets you behind the wheel of trucks equipped with the latest technology to help ensure that fuel arrives to our customers safely, on-time and with ease. Our seasonal employees are so essential to our business that if you are hired for this position we will provide you with a monthly bonus up to $300.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver fuel in a safe and efficient manner by following proper loading and unloading procedures

  • Maintain the delivery truck which includes reviewing the maintenance record, performing inspections and reporting all vehicle conditions requiring attention for continued safe operation

  • Provide superior customer service and strive to achieve zero driver related customer complaints

  • Account for funds and inventory which includes operating a handheld terminal, maintaining a trip report and documenting meter and odometer readings and related information

Qualifications

  • Clean driving record with a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with hazmat, tanker, and air brake endorsements as well as a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate allowing for operation in interstate commerce (or the ability to quickly obtain stated license, certificate and required endorsements)

  • Ability to lift and pull equipment that weighs 50 to 75 lbs.

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions

VIEW JOBS 12/5/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-05T00:00 Job Summary The Heavy Duty Truck Driver Sr position includes driving fuel service vehicle and refueling the helicopters in support of 2 USDA – Forest Service owned demilitarized Bell 209 Cobra Helicopters. This is a seasonal position (June through October). Primary base is located in Redding, CA. Principal Accountabilities (Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.) * Drive a straight truck, over 4 tons, with 10 wheels fuel truck * Perform daily Quality Control checks on equipment and fuel. * Maintain equipment in clean and functional condition. * Use of fuel truck to fuel and defuel aircraft as directed. * Perform Hot refueling in accordance to Federal policies and procedures. * Maintain driver log books and fuel records via paper and electronic logging device. * Perform pre and post daily inspections on the truck. * Report any issues with the truck to management. * Adhere to DOT and Federal duty day limits, policies and agency travel regulations. * Maintains support fuel truck inventory. * Maintain electronic logging devices, registration, inspections and maintenance of 2 International 5000 gallon Fuel Trucks. * Performs vehicle registration, insurance and CHP formalities and documentation regarding induction of new vehicles in existing fleet. * Oversee routine and ad hoc maintenance, obtain tags for new vehicles and renew old ones to ensure schedule fleet management. * Monitor and ensure fleet operation in compliance with local and state rules and regulations. * Maintain and monitor data management system to organize fleets as per various schedules and requests. * Streamline and monitor fuel purchase system with assistance of Fuel Cards for all vehicles and drivers. * Ensure staff receives proper training in the use, storage, and disposal of flammable liquids and hazardous waste materials according to local, state, and federal laws. * Facilitate and implement corrective actions and capacity building to manage entire fleet to achieve company objectives. * Participate in various workshops and educational programs and maintain knowledge on all industry relevant publications. * Inspect equipment to determine repair work needed; estimate cost and make decisions on work requiring extensive repair; make recommendations to repair or replace vehicles to the Program Manager. * Develop and implement standard operational standards to maintain vehicles by advocating best practice in industry. * Supports helicopter operations by refueling helicopters and selecting refueling areas in remote locations. * Ability to perform task independently with minimum supervision. * Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge & Skills * Must be capable of submitting daily records via email and/or web. * Must have general computer program skills; such as Microsoft Office. * Must be able read, write, understand and speak English. Establish and maintain harmonious and effective working relationships with a wide variety of people that include senior management, employees, outside agencies, and the general public. * Plan, direct, and organize the activities of staff. * Research and prepare technical specifications for vehicles and equipment. * Demonstrate appropriate mechanical and operations skills. * Diagnose equipment failures and ensure corrective measures are taken. * Analyze data and prepare reports with recommendations on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment. * Diagnose and locate mechanical defects and verify repair cost estimates. * Assist in training, and evaluating employee's performances in the field. * Coordinate training programs in new repair techniques, products, and equipment. * Read, understand and interpret written directives with regard to factory letters and bulletins, automotive manuals and memorandums, and District policies and practices. * Prepare and maintain records and reports such as time, vehicle, preventive maintenance, repair orders, field repairs, tow service, sublets, and warranties. * Become proficient in generating and performing input of information on District automated systems. * Communicate clearly and diplomatically in writing and verbally with personnel, vendors and customers. Experience & Education * Must be 21 years old and possess a high school diploma or G.E.D at the time of hire. * Must have valid driver's license and minimum 2 years driving experience with a clean driving record. * Minimum of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tank, HazMat and airbrake endorsements. * Current DOT medical required. * 2 Years Minimum of Hazmat and fueling operational experience or 3 seasonal years of fueling during fire operations. * 2 Years Minimum of assisting in Fleet Management. * Must be willing to perform extensive travel during fire season contract and at time stay overnight in remote locations.
