TITLE: Senior Army Instructor (SAI)
REPORT TO: Director of Army Instruction and School principal
US Army retired officer (grade 03 thru 06), with a minimum of 15 years of military service.
Not retired longer than three (3) years.
Must hold a rank of E-8 or above with a bachelor's degree.
Meet current Army physical and weight standards as outlined in CCR 145-2, dated May 2006.
Be certified as JROTC Instructor by US Army Cadet Command.
Wear the Army uniform and meet personal grooming standards as outlined in AR 670-1.
Baccalaureate degree Preferred masters degree and a graduate of US Army CGSC.
Able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with students, parents, other teachers and school administrators.
Serve as the Senior Army Instructor (SAI) and Senior instructional leader at the school assigned
Implement the Program of Instruction (POI) as outlined by the US Army Cadet Command.
Maintain military proficiency on topics taught in the JROTC curriculum by attending JSOCC as required and distance learning (DL).
Support and attend annual JCLC (Summer Camp); required, no exceptions.
Become familiar with and use cadet's command's JUMS, JCIMS and Portal Systems.
Administer and manage the JROTC program according to law, Army regulations and district policy.
Actively recruit students to enroll in JROTC programs and maintain, exceed cadet enrollment requirements.
Receive, store, safeguard, issue and account for all government property assigned to the school.
Ensure that the JROTC facilities provided are adequate and not only meet but exceed military requirements.
Have a keen knowledge of administrative and supply operations.
Supervise and support Army instructors (AI's) assigned to you and provide additional duties as required.
Participate in all functions directed by the Director of Army Instruction (DAI).
Make sure that the curriculum of instruction is divided equally among you and the instructors under you and that they are taught according to the LET level daily.
Conduct a public affairs program directed toward the school, school district, community and civic groups to further enhance their understanding and mission of the JROTC program.
Make sure all reports requested by the DAI are turned in on or before deadline.
Attend all scheduled or called SAI meetings.
Ensure that no coaching of any sports or similar activities by you and the AI's outside of the JROTC Department, unless approve by the DAI, BDE CRS, AC, IAW CCR 145-2, Chap 4 para 4-4, pg. 20.
Perform any and all related duties as assigned by the DAI or principal.
Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines. A campus-based employee may not assume a new position for which he/she was selected based upon the posting process until the end of the current semester, unless approved by the chief officer Human Capital Management. Federally funded personnel must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certifications, as appropriate.
