We are currently seeking a Carrier Development Representative for our Garden Grove location. LEGACY offers paid holidays, vacation, 401k and excellent benefits.
The Carrier Development Representative will be responsible for developing relationships with Carriers and securing carriers with competitive pay rates.
Make phone calls on a daily basis and source carriers to match available shipments.
Qualify, source and add new carriers to Legacy's Carrier network.
New carrier set up process Maintaining up to date information on all active carriers in Legacy Data Base, I.e. Updated insurance certificates.
Build rapport and develop relationships with carriers and integrate them into our system.
Work closely with Account Managers and Sales Teams to find loads matching carriers' capacity and where our customers have opportunities, while maximizing over all profit to the company.
Negotiate and secure carriers with competitive pay rates with carriers to ensure fair market prices to help build and sustain partnerships.
Maintain solid understanding of market conditions, carrier pricing and trends to maximize profit margins.
Research carriers, identify potential business partners, and generate interest to help develop business relationships.
On going communication with carrier's dispatch and/or driver from dispatch through pickup and delivery to ensure load is picked and delivered on-time.
RequirementsOne year of practical experience
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Ability to be on the phone a great deal.
