Job Description

A Scrub Technician is responsible for preparing and maintaining the operating room and equipment before, during, and after surgical procedures. They work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that the surgical environment is safe and sterile.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies

• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures

• Maintain a sterile environment by following proper infection control procedures

• Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment after procedures

• Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgery

• Monitor and maintain inventory of surgical supplies and equipment

• Assist with transporting patients to and from the operating room

• Document and maintain accurate records of surgical procedures

Qualifications

• Qualified candidates must have previous scrub technician experience or gradated from a scrub technician program

• High School Diploma

• Completion of a surgical technology program or equivalent experience

• Certification as a surgical technologist preferred

• Knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
