JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The College of Nursing has an immediate vacancy for a Screening Site Support Lead position in relation to Penn State's COVID-19 Testing Initiatives. This work will take place at collection sites across the University Park campus under the direction of Dr. Cara Exten.
Daily duties will include recordkeeping, organization of the site, including restocking supplies, and supervision of the faculty, staff, and student self-collection of biological samples. Additional duties will be ensuring the readiness for daily site operations, providing triage for site issues and coordinating with other site leads, lab personnel, and administration. Additional duties may include communicating testing protocols and test results to students, staff, and faculty.
Personal protective equipment, including gloves, masks, and face shields will be required and provided. Training related to safety protocols will be provided. No previous healthcare experience is required but is desirable.

Position responsibilities may include but are not limited to, the following examples of work-related tasks.
Observe and supervise the self-collection of samples for the purpose of COVID-19 screening
Confirm appointment and identification details with faculty, students, and staff upon their arrival at site
Maintain records relating to sample collection
Prepare sealed samples for shipment to a on campus testing facility
Protect and maintain individuals' privacy and confidentiality
Provide on-site guidance to other screening site support employees
Communicate testing protocols and test results to faculty, staff, and students.
Communicate regularly with lab personnel and administration.
Requires a high school diploma plus 2 years of related experience. An Associate's degree is preferred. Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow established safety protocols
Must be able to work flexible hours
Ability to work with different communication styles
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency working with office technology such as; computers, phones and filing systems
Ability to demonstrate a professional and positive attitude and a strong work ethic
Excellent interpersonal skills required and the ability to interact professionally with people from diverse cultural, racial, ethnic, gender, and socioeconomic backgrounds during a time of crisis and distress
Excellent organizational skills
Critical thinking and sound judgment
Ability to speak, read, and write English
Experience in a health, human service, or community-based organization, or institutional setting is strongly preferred
Proficiency in languages other than English
Prior lead/supervisory experience
This is a fixed-term position funded for one year with the possibility of refunding.
