Underwrite and approve (or decline) business purpose loan requests for both new and existing credit relationships with aggregate exposure up to $500,000. Serve as resource to financial center personnel and relationship managers by acting as subject matter expert in the area of score-based credit analysis and structuring and centralized underwriting unit policy & procedures. Partners with RMs, application processing unit, and loan closing officers to provide seamless experience to customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for reviewing and analyzing credit requests via reports provided in the loan request submission package (Underwriter will utilize score based methodology)

  • Provide loan decisions / recommendations based on a review of all necessary underwriting criteria & prepare related credit memos in support of decisions / recommendations.

  • Identify and communicate cross-sell opportunities discovered during the underwriting process.

  • Effectively communicate with relationship managers, financial center personnel, loan closing group, and all other internal partners. Individual must exhibit the ability to work under pressure and the ability to juggle competing priorities. Underwriter must provide outstanding customer service to internal customers and work well within a team environment.

  • Maintain working knowledge of Centralized Underwriting Unit Policy & Procedures and FTB Commercial Policy and have the ability to apply as needed. Must maintain satisfactory SLA & QC results.

RequirementsEducation and/or Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 1 to 4 years of directly related or equivalent experience required.

  • Accurate typing, spelling and grammar skills.

  • Proficient in basic software applications such as Microsoft Word; Intermediate Excel skills required.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Good organizational and customer service skills.

  • Strong sense of urgency & attention to detail.

  • Strong Time Management skills

  • Ability to handle high pressure situations

  • Ability to negotiate

  • Ability to work on a computer

The Crop Insurance Account Specialist (CIAS) is responsible for selling and servicing all types of crop insurance coverage. This person will build strong relationships with industry contacts; with Farm Credit Mid-America teams in the service territory and with the end customer. The CIAS will use knowledge of insurance and agriculture to provide contacts with value added information and customized solutions for their individual needs. The CIAS is responsible for compliance with all applicable insurance laws, regulations and all insurance company policies; and will be responsible for obtaining information needed for the insurance company to underwrite policies according to all appropriate laws and regulations. The CIAS will work in the interest of providing the best possible crop insurance coverage that benefits both the customer and the Association. Covering the Murfreesboro and Columbia Tennessee Territory. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: * CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS: The CIAS will spend the majority of time working with customers to provide crop insurance coverage and follow up servicing on smaller accounts. This includes efforts to build business contacts, and other referral network that aid in providing quality service to customers or prospects. * DELIVER AND SERVICE CROP INSURANCE PRODUCT: Assists in establishing new crop insurance policies for walk-in and telephone customers. This includes determining the customers' needs, completing worksheets, and transmitting information. Assist the Crop Insurance Specialist in delivering and servicing related policies and products to larger customers. * RISK IDENTIFICATION AND MANAGEMENT: The CIAS will play a critically important role in identifying risk and offering solutions to farmers for the financial risk in their farming operation. * CLAIMS REPORTING & COORDINATION: Assists Crop Insurance Specialist in receiving claims reports and insurance adjusting activities. Also communicates with customers, adjusters and insurance company to facilitate the claim process. * TECHNICAL COMPETENCE AND GENERAL SUPPORT: The CIAS will insure the technical aspects of crop insurance processing and tracking (with assigned CIS's) are timely, accurate, and in compliance with policies and procedures. * CROSS-SELLING: Develops a customer relationship by proactively cross-selling core products and other services to our customers or prospective customers. * INFORMATION MAINTENANCE AND REPORTING: Monitors database entry and reporting; maintains association database; processes required reports from Farm Credit Mid-America databases; and backs up information daily. * INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE: The CIAS will build expertise in the areas of agriculture, risk management, insurance and technology and the needs of the ag producer market. * Represents and communicates the mission and values of Farm credit mid-america and complies with its conduct policy, security policy and confidentiality expectations. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience High School diploma and at least six years of successful experience in two or more of the following areas: administrative support, financially related customer service or computer operations.
