About this Position:

Honda Development & Manufacturing of America (HDMA) Regional Packaging Tech Leader is responsible to establish and lead large and complex regional packaging projects considering areas of strategic data elements and key business initiatives and opportunities. They serve as technical expert in area of responsibility, sharing knowledge and developing the capabilities of colleagues through training, mentoring, sharing of experiences and providing frontline leadership and direction.

Responsible to facilitate business plan strategies, provide data driven solutions that support key development areas, including budget, personnel, performance metrics, department resources and data analytics.

Additional responsibilities include developing the associates in areas of technical proficiency and leadership, while also supporting manpower and business planning activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and set strategic direction for the team; identify challenges and use data analytics to translate back into daily operational task items; provide outputs that drive action; lead with influence the Honda way; foster relationships and build team trust

  • Create relationships with business partners outside core department; link stakeholders and team members; present and share team initiatives; negotiate and support team to break down barriers

  • Understand and influence business plan; build and execute vision strategies and design and develop tools & resources that supports business goals

  • Represent Packaging interest in strategic business decision making; Build project plan around critical milestones and deliverables; Layout targets and expectations; Organize resources needed to support plan; report cost savings and gaps

  • Effectively lead projects and themes of large complexity and scope. Communicate project updates to explain project status accurately; Format data to visualize project results.

  • Embrace and apply sound innovation applying technical expertise to support business operations that impact decisions both RO and LO

  • Strive for continuous improvement through cycling Plan Do Check Action (PDCA) for responsibility areas to ensure success.

Who we are seeking:

Required Work Experience:

  • 6 - 10 years relevant experience

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Field or 6 - 10 years relevant experience

Desired skills:

  • Meets or exceeds requirements for career level 5

Additional Position Factors:

  • Virtual WFH environment, periods of local and regional travel as needed, average 5 - 10 hours overtime a week.

This is a 3-year rotation program for entry level individuals. <br><br> The candidate will spend the first year training in San Diego and Texas. The training will focus on a broad exposure to our products and the Customer Service organization. While in San Diego and Texas (the first 8 months of training), the successful candidate will receive both on-line web-based training and classroom training; commissioning and maintenance field assignments at customer sites; controls engineering assignment; and exposure to the Customer Service Response Center and QHSE training, time in engine teardown, build and test and field assignments at customer sites. <br><br> During the following six months, the candidate will be trained on all aspects of Machinery Management Services and support a Solar Fleet Manager in a U.S. District Office.</p><p>After the 14 months of training, the candidate must commit to spending 2 additional years at ONE of our U.S. district offices as a Fleet Engineer. At this time, the selected candidate will be given a company vehicle to travel.</p><p>Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.</p><p>This is a hands-on position, which requires heavy travel and overtime, relocation, heavy customer-interface and possible offshore assignments.</p><p>This position is responsible for providing technical and administrative support to Fleet Managers in maintaining and managing Machinery Management Agreements between Solar and customers. Facilitates equipment failure investigations and root cause determination with appropriate groups. <br><br> Compiles and submits engineering reports and analysis to Fleet Managers for review. Fleet Engineer supports FM with alert management, preventative action reports, value tracking, and compilation of monthly reports and submission to customers. He/She/They will participate in and support onsite condition assessments. <br><br> Fleet Engineer will also support FM with Service Bulletin compliance and implementation of corrective actions as well as follow up on pending issues defined within issue tracker. He/She/They must be well versed in both Solar and customer HSSE management systems.
