We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist to support Monte Rosa Tx effort to identify small molecule glue degraders in different disease areas such as cancer and autoimmune/inflammatory diseases. In this position within the Target Biology and Translational Research group, the candidate will provide scientific insight for the identification and validation of targets to support indication selection and early clinical development of novel molecular glue degraders. This energetic and self-motivated PhD scientist to join a team of scientists working towards discovery of unique molecular glue degraders for the treatment of targeted patient populations. The candidate will be a highly creative immunologist or cancer biologist with a strong desire to succeed at the highest level.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Independently design, execute and interpret cell-based experiments to optimize compound selection and explore therapeutic potential of drug targets

Design and develop cell and molecular assays to define mechanism of action for compounds, identify pharmacodynamic assays for utility in pre-clinical and clinical setting and test patient selection strategies

Identify pharmacodynamic assays for utility in pre-clinical and clinical setting; define PK/PD/efficacy relationships and test patient selection strategies

Utilize literature and internal genomics data sets to design and test hypothesis for drug targets

Interpret, present and report research findings at internal meetings and external scientific conferences

Requirements

Job Qualifications:

  • Ph.D in immunology, cell/molecular biology, or genetics with 3-5 years industry experience in oncology drug discovery/translational research
  • Expertise in multi-parameter flow cytometry (CytoFLEX experience preferred)
  • Strong technical experience in primary immune cell assays
  • Strong understanding of the hematopoietic system
  • Experience with small molecule-based therapies desired
  • Experience using in vitro / vivo oncology models for drug discovery and translational research
  • Proven track record of striving for high level innovation and scientific excellence
  • Excellent time management skills and flexibility to accommodate to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team-based and cross-functional environment
  • Excellent oral, written communication and record keeping skills
