The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of promising anticancer therapeutics by leading process development, tech transfer, and manufacturing activities for conjugation and fill finish processes of ImmunoGen's novel antibody-drug conjugates. This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-paced, dynamic environment with interaction across groups within the entire organization and with ImmunoGen's external network of vendors and CMOs. He/she will work with experienced scientists on bioconjugation, purification, and characterization of antibody drug conjugations across all phases of development.Responsibilities * Lead outsourced process development activities to ensure phase-appropriate, data driven execution of development and clinical manufacturing activities in accordance with CMC strategy and project timelines. * Serve as an independent technical leader designing, reviewing, overseeing, and reporting on development studies of ADC drug substance intermediate and final drug product. * Represent ImmunoGen as a technical leader interfacing with contract manufacturers and development organizations to drive external development, tech transfer, and clinical manufacturing activities. * Represent process development by providing effective and timely communication of scientific results and corresponding impacts to the CMC teams as they relate to CMC strategy and overall program objectives. * Support multiple development programs and make recommendations related to prioritization of process development activities needed to meet project deliverables. * Explore implementation of state-of-the art techniques and development strategies to improve the robustness and speed/efficiency of ImmunoGen's manufacturing processes.Life at ImmunoGenAt ImmunoGen, we are looking for forward-thinking talent with diverse experiences and a track record of success, leadership skills, a demonstrated ability to take initiative, and a passion for improving the lives of those living with cancer.   • M.S. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or related field with 3+ years of relevant industry experience* or-* PhD. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or related field with 1+ years of relevant industry experience* or-* B.S in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or related field with 5+ years of relevant industry experience * Demonstrated technical experience in process development and technology is required * Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, excellent technical rigor, proven ability to effectively discern and communicate impacts or conclusions based on data analysis. * Demonstrated experience working directly with or overseeing external vendors / C(D)MOs or experience as Person in Plant is required. * Detail-oriented candidate with strong verbal and written communication skills * Experience in protein modification and purification (i.e., TFF and chromatography) and analytical characterization (HPLC/UPLC, size exclusion chromatography, UV/vis spectroscopy) is preferred * Knowledge of design of experiments (DoE) methods and statistical software packages (JMP) is a plus. * Able to multi-task and function effectively in a dynamic environment involving alignment and prioritization, with adaptability to changing business needs, requirements and priorities.Our BenefitsWe believe in the potential of our people and foster a supportive environment that develops our folks, rewards performance, and incentivizes long-term success.
