Seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to provide Project execution leadership to customer-funded projects and internal research efforts within the Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) segment of L3Harris Technologies.
Responsible for successfully leading the execution of a project team to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments in a growing business area.
Develops, oversees and coordinates the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines defined by the Program Manager and customer.
Proactively addresses challenges by identifying strategies to recover schedule, build slack to meet customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
Reviews status of engineering projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports.
Works closely with Systems Engineering to manage and dispositions program-level risks.
Lead multidiscipline teams through the development, monitoring, and statusing of detailed MS Project schedules.
Effectively use Earned Value (EV) to guide the success of a project.
Work closely with Material Management, Operations and Quality organizations to ensure the success of a project.
Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors to ensure project staffing needs are met.
Support proposals for new work in a growing business.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience with best practices for Project Engineering, EVMS, and program execution.
Has managed the internal execution of the project through consistent use of cost and schedule techniques (e.g. EVMS)
Experienced with change management and risk tracking.
Experienced with program pursuit and proposal activities.
Experience managing projects with budgets of $100M+.
Experience leading a multi-disciplined team of engineers.
Experience across the product engineering lifecycle.
Experience in mentoring through a constant commitment to help other meet their full potential.
Experience supporting government customers
Comprehensive subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of Project Engineering and in-depth knowledge of project management.
Familiarity with space flight programs and standards delivering optical payloads.Experience in influencing changes to practices, processes and approaches to improve execution across an organization.
Experience in Root Cause Corrective Action process and techniques.
Ability to implement and adapt project execution plans that will achieve technical, cost, and schedule requirements in challenging environments.
Ability to communicate inside and outside of an organization at all levels.
Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
