Rubius Therapeutics is a biopharmaceutical company pioneering a new era of cellular medicines. Our proprietary RED PLATFORM was designed to genetically engineer and culture Red Cell Therapeutics that are selective, potent and ready to-use cellular therapies for the potential treatment of several diseases across multiple therapeutic areas.

Our initial focus is to advance RCT product candidates for the treatment of rare diseases, cancer and autoimmune diseases by leveraging three distinct therapeutic modalities cellular shielding, potent cell-cell interaction and tolerance induction. We plan to file our first Investigational New Drug application (IND) for RTX-134 in phenylketonuria during the first quarter of 2019. We are planning to file additional INDs in rare diseases, cancer and autoimmune diseases in 2019, 2020 and beyond.

We are looking for a Senior Scientist/Scientist to join our Immunology group to help drive key Immunology programs. The candidate must be independent, goal oriented, technically competent and able to efficiently work across multiple projects. We are searching for enthusiastic, innovative, and highly motivated individuals, with deep scientific background in immunology, preferably autoimmune diseases, who are comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. If you are an in vivo expert with hands-on animal models experience and feel excited to test our cool engineered T Cells, we would like to work together with you to move our projects forward and hopefully one day these engineered T cell products will make a big difference in patients' lives! GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Design, implement, and troubleshoot experiments, both independently and in collaboration with colleagues, to reach desired goals * Establish in vitro /in vivo assays to support T cell & Treg projects * Communicate research and development findings with internal and external teams/partners in a clear and concise manner REQUIRED SKILLS: * A great team player is a must as we want to have fun together! * Animal handling experience, including i.v., i.p. and s.c. injections and animal model development expertise is a must. Experience with humanized mice and in vivo imaging is highly desired * Candidates with hands-on experience in GvHD animal models or other immunogenicity models, testing of immune cells in mouse models, or mouse models of autoimmunity, transplant, and/or inflammatory diseases will be preferred * Ability to clearly analyze, communicate, and present scientific findings * Ability to design experiments with minimal day-to-day guidance PREFERRED SKILLS: * Experience with gene editing and lentiviral libraries * Stem Cell or Engineered Cell Therapy Experience * Knowledge of allo-recognition biology and Treg biology QUALIFICATIONS: * PhD in immunology, cell biology or related field with 0-2 years industry experience or master in the same field with more than 3 years industry experience.
