In this role, you will be based in San Francisco, CA and support our Cell Therapy (CTx) business unit. At CTx San Francisco, we accelerate advanced cell therapies for difficult-to-treat conditions, including cancer and rare diseases. As a Scientist III, QC, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all supervisory functions within the QC Microbiology laboratory to ensure compliance with cGMP testing and corporate requirements.

  • Provide leadership and development opportunities to the QC Micro team, empowering them to succeed in their personal and organizational goals.

  • Coordinate work schedules and oversee daily activities of the microbiological laboratory.

  • Ensure accurate and timely testing for microbial limits, routine EM, sterility, growth promotion, etc.

  • Deliver analytical solutions to clients through expertise in Microbiological-specific method qualification and validation strategies.

  • Oversee testing for incoming raw materials, facility environmental monitoring, in-process, and formulated Drug Product.

  • Revise/review specifications, SOPs, and other documents regarding QC Micro Lab.

  • Train new hires on department processes, procedures, and tools.

  • Lead investigations and provide resolutions to test method issues and quality events.

  • Interact with auditors/clients during visits and tours.

  • Responsible for microbial method validation/verification.

  • Review and approve documentation and data generated by the group.

  • Support cross-functional teams to develop contamination control strategies and aseptic process manufacturing control.

  • Provide support to site safety initiatives.

  • Other job duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, preferably Microbiology or Biology, or related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.

  • 5 years of industry experience in a cGMP-regulated lab environment.

  • Minimum of 2 years of direct people leadership experience.

  • Cell therapy experience required.

  • CDMO background preferred.

  • Experience performing environmental monitoring preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $90,900.00-$136,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
