Our Process Development Services team is an important function within Pall, this is a customer facing role with a focus on upstream process development.

Your Role:

All upstream development activities such as: development of flatware, small and large scale bioreactors manufacturing viral vector production processes utilizing mammalian cell expression systems using fed-batch techniques and perfusion, while meeting GMP manufacturing requirements

Prepare reagents in support of cell culture and routine analytical testing

Provide technical resolution and the monitoring of ongoing cell culture projects development campaigns.

Assist in the routine maintenance of general laboratory equipment and lab daily activities

Perform a wide range of cell culture primarily, but not limited to, the molecular, cell biology, and virology test areas of Biopharmaceutical Services

Ensure inventory logs are current for required cell culture reagents and supplies

Set up and Execute bioreactor runs for cell culture processes

Writing experimental plans and reports

Our PDS Scientists have opportunities to attend conferences, publish and present data.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors of Science degree in biology/biochemical engineering or related degree and 5+ years relevant laboratory and process development industrial experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree

Gene therapy

Data analysis, interpretation, presentation of results

Ability to solve moderately complex issues independently

What you'll do We are seeking a Scientist to work with our Process Transfer and Development team. You'll work on upstream activities within Fast Track - Biomanufacturing (FTBM), including: process development, scale-up, internal and external technical transfer and manufacturing production support. * Develop processes and complete external (to and from client) and internal (to cGMP manufacturing department) technical transfers of upstream unit operations. * Reproduce and optimize upstream processes at bench scale and effectively design and execute scale up engineering or toxicology runs. * Design and perform feed, media, and harvest/clarification studies. * Evaluate and develop new upstream production technologies, particularly to support conversion of unit operations to single-use disposable systems.
