Primary Skills


Work in a team based environment to perform all tasks related to the production and qualification of cellular based products for use in research and commercial products for use in the life sciences industry. Key Objectives of the role:

Responsible for manufacturing product(s) in a lab setting following standard operating procedures. Will utilize basic laboratory techniques, calculations, materials measurement, operation of laboratory equipment and record keeping necessary to manufacture products. Will perform media and solution preparation, maintain cell lines, small scale shake flask production, large scale bioreactor production, cell harvest, and conduct cellular based assays while utilizing aseptic techniques.

Responsible for Batch Data Records, notebooks, customer reports and work order documents. Utilize specialized technical knowledge and skills to make detailed observations and analyze data to ensure within operating parameters. Advise manager of factors that may affect quality of product.

Suggest options/ideas for corrective actions. Maintain equipment, product inventories and related records as assigned. Note variances on manufacturing documents; audit and evaluate process documents and propose revisions.

Complete, distribute and file records as required in accordance with Document Control Practices. Identify potential issues in the production process; report findings to team management and members for resolution or participate in troubleshooting. Write technical documents which may include standard operating procedures and batch records.

May lead process improvement projects or product transfer projects May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned. Minimum Qualifications (must have): Must have a bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other related discipline. Masters degree is a plus.

Requires a minimum of 3 years relevant experience demonstrating laboratory techniques in a manufacturing environment or research laboratory. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of scientific laboratory techniques, equipment and materials required. Experience in the use of basic laboratory techniques, including media and solution preparation, cell expansion, transfection, maintaining cell lines, antibody production, and cellular assays.

Familiar with GE Wave bioreactor operation and harvest. Experience with mammalian and insect cell lines Lifting up to 20 lbs will be required on a frequent basis. May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties.

Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials. Consistent, dependable and accurate in carrying out responsibilities Excellent documentation and communication skills Demonstrated ability to carry out scientific procedures and make recommendations for improvement as required.

Good problem solving skills and critical thinking skills are necessary.

A highly motivated research Scientist dedicated to identifying new non-viral Nucleic acid delivery systems for in vivo delivery. The successful candidate will work with other formulation scientists on in vitro and in vivo characterization of new lipid nanoparticle formulations (LNPs). This position requires excellent organizational skills, independence, enthusiasm and the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment. What will you do? * in vivo studies in small animal model (mouse) * Formulation of delivery vehicles * Collect and analyze tissue samples * Perform Flow cytometry, QRT-PCR and ImmunoHistochemistry * design scientific projects, plan research efforts, and defend their ideas to multiple internal and external scientific reviewers. * Present data to colleagues How will you get here? Education/Experience: * Candidates must hold a PhD degree in life sciences with 2-3 years of post-doc experience (Pharmaceutical Sciences/ biochemical engineering/ Biomedical engineering/ Chemistry/ Biology) * The candidate must have a strong track record and experience in non-viral gene and RNAi delivery. Specifically, in depth knowledge and exposure to LNP-based gene delivery systems is desired. Must be able to establish reliability and reproducibility of formulation through physicochemical characterization * Prior experience in vivo delivery. * Strong background in formulation * Experienced in small animal handling and procedures like IV, IP, SC injection and in vivo imaging * Adept at Tissue Culture, Transfection, Fluorescence and confocal microscopy, High-throughput assays like ELISA * Design of Experiment (DOE) and Statistical data analysis * Excellent communication and presentation skills are required. Desire to perform lab based cutting edge science and make discoveries towards treating unmet medical needs is essential * May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned Preferred Qualifications: * Molecular and cell biology background * Flow cytometry * Immuno Histochemistry * qRTPCR and Protein analysis (Elisa) * Prior experience with Training of in vivo techniques * Tissue culture experience Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: * Able to plan independently experiments, as well as organize and analyze data * Effective Communication skills Working Conditions: * Laboratory environment where standing for long periods of time while performing duties maybe required.
