Job Description:

The successful candidate will be capable of multitasking, setting goals, priorities, and planning timelines. In addition, highly effective communication and collaboration are crucial.


  • Assist in developing scientific approaches to identify novel diagnostic, prognostic, and pharmacodynamic biomarkers to enable go/no go decisions for drug development programs

  • Perform biochemical assays indicative of target engagement, efficacy, PK/PD relationships, and novel biomarkers to characterize molecules for potential therapeutic effects

  • Participate in research teams to support biomarker discovery and development

  • Prepare, review and deliver high quality scientific presentations for internal/external use

  • Develop strategies to identify and validate novel biomarkers to assist in program progression

  • Learn new techniques and approaches as needed to tackle relevant questions


Working knowledge and experience of current approaches and instrumentation involved in protein biochemistry and molecular biology techniques (e.g. immunoassays, western blotting, protein-protein interactions, protein purification, immunoprecipitation, real-time PCR, enzymatic assays) is required

  • Ability to analyze and interpret biomarker data from preclinical and clinical trials to establish target engagement/pharmacodynamic effect criteria

  • Track record in neuroscience, including knowledge of neurodegenerative diseases (AD, PD, ALS). Experience working in Parkinson's Disease is preferred

  • Expertise in the cutting edge assay technologies and excellent assay troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision in managing projects and priorities

  • Experience in translating biomarker assays from preclinical models to the clinical setting is preferred


PhD with postdoctoral experience or BS/MS with 7+ years of academic/industry experience

Bring the principles of objective decision-making into the development, validation and implementation of industry-leading mobile/digital technology programs for incorporation into clinical trials. Integral member of a matrixed team, which develops and uses computational and statistical approaches to discover and validate digital biomarkers. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES * Collaborate with various scientists in the design, analysis and reporting of clinical experiments. * Ensure rigorous approaches are taken to ensure good scientific practices are followed: excellent statistical methods utilized and documented in protocols, analysis plans and manuscripts, and assay methods are appropriately blinded, randomized and designed to meet clear objectives * Core member of scientific teams responsible for determining strategy and delivering results in a timely and high quality environment. * Interact with internal and external experts to assure sound quantitative approaches are applied to collection and analysis of a wide variety of data types. * Bring innovative statistical thinking and methods to help drive data-driven drug discovery and development employing modern methods including Bayesian techniques * Work with scientists to understand the biology and improve existing or derive new endpoints, utilize prior information, develop 'fit-for-purpose' statistical models * Use statistical expertise to prepare both internal and external reports, presentations, manuscripts QUALIFICATIONS MSc (PhD preferred) in Statistics, Biostatistics or in quantitative discipline such as Physics, Applied Mathematics, Bioengineering, Electrical Engineering coupled with high level of statistical expertise.
