Performs essential roles in the researchenterprise of individual laboratories or in providing support for broad-based institutional initiatives through roles in data analysis and assessment. In some cases, Scientists may manage individual labs, core services or analysts of institutional data that is used either internally or externally (e.g., in supportof major extramural programs).

Responsibilities:
A listing of the key responsibilities.

  • Formulates and conducts independent research on problems of considerable scope and complexity in a clinical capacity across all research phases including design, execution and analysis within the scope of the project.

  • Insures the quality and integrity of data and safe and proper management of study parameters.

  • Explores subject area and defines scope and selection of problems for investigation through conceptually related studies or a series of projects of lesser scope.

  • Manages and reviews preparation of study protocols, statistical analysis and study reports and produces scientific content for clinical and regulatory documents.

  • Provides scientific expertise in an ongoing capacity for assigned organization and may supervise clinical team members.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field required with three (3) years of experience in specific areas of research.

  • PhD preferred

  • Exercises a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding scientific research programs.

  • Requires in-depth knowledge and experience within specific area(s) of expertise.

  • Works independently with minimal guidance.

  • Analytical problem solving skills with demonstrated skills to define, scope and analyze complex, cross-functional problems and work in partnership with operational owners and project leaders to develop and execute all facets of project work.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making and leadership skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Must be skilled in the use of data analysis and applicable project management tools i.e., MS Project (or equivalent), Visio, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Receives report at the beginning of shift with nurses. Reports any observations concerning customer condition, emergency situations or difficulties with medications to the supervising nurse throughout shift should they occur; 2. Administers routine oral, topical and suppository medications as prescribed by the physician. Document same on MAR; 3. Administers prn medications as prescribed by the physician, as directed by the licensed nurse. Documents same on MAR; 4. Maintains medication supply, assists with ordering of new medications, reorders existing medications and restocks medicine carts as needed; 5. Recognizes the significance and is able to perform accurate vital sign monitoring when indicated by drug therapy; 6. Maintains current knowledge base regarding any medication he/she administers. Investigates/looks up unknown medications before administration; 7. Checks all first doses against physician order sheet; does not administer medication based on verbal order of nurse; 8. Prepares, administers and charts oral, topical and suppository medication as prescribed by physician; 9. Processes physician's orders to ensure proper administration; 10. Orders medications, as indicated by doctor's orders; 11. Participates in the completion of treatments of customers as directed by a Licensed Nurse; 12. Notes and reports any unusual conditions, emergency situations, or difficulties with medication to the Licensed Nurse; 13. Cleans medication treatment carts and medicine room; 14. Stocks medicine room; 15. Performs Certified Nursing Assistant duties as needed; 16. Puts Customer Service First: Ensures that customers and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights; 17. Performs other duties as requested. ACM1 QUALIFICATIONS: SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: A Certified Medicine Aide (C.M.A.) has the qualifications of a Certified Nursing Assistant with one year of experience in nursing and has completed a state-approved medicine course with a passing grade.
