The Position

The Functional Genomics department at Genentech is seeking a highly motivated and skilled immunologist to drive functional genomics screening efforts in immune cells, to develop and validate new therapeutic hypotheses, interrogate disease biology and advance transformative medicines.

The Opportunity:

This laboratory based role involves implementation and screening of complex T-cell based assays in close collaborations with multiple therapeutic areas in Genentech's Research.

• You will employ the latest functional genomics screening and assay tools to interrogate questions from our research community in therapeutically relevant in vitro models, including primary cells, co-culture systems, organoids, and iPSC-derived cells.

• You will work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment

• You will plan experiments to efficiently work on multiple projects simultaneously while adapting the schedule based on shifting priorities.

• You are contributing to internal and external presentations as well as scientific publications.

Who you are:

• You hold a PhD with relevant experience in Cancer Biology, Immunology, or Genetics with strong knowledge of cancer immunology/cell biology.

• You have extensive experience in developing complex disease relevant cell assays, particularly for the interrogation of primary T cells, myeloid cells, and iPSC-derived systems

• You are skilled in applying CRISPR-based genomic screening tools

Preferred:

• You are familiar with automation

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is between $100,200 and $186,000 of the hiring range.of hiring range. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
