Position Objective: Provide services as a Scientific Communications Editor in support of the overall functions of the Office of the Director (OD) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Curate digital content by identifying, repackaging and refining content to meet audience needs and channel requirements.
Evaluate current programs to ensure successful implementation and support of projects across the branch.
Conduct quantitative and qualitative communication program and impact evaluations. 1
Provide advice, technical assistance and leadership in creating, planning and developing communication and marketing priorities, plans, campaigns, strategies and practices. 2
Ensure that all health communication activities are based on theory and use accepted principles, methods and practices. 3
Develop, test and disseminate products, tools and messages to different audiences in a variety of formats.
Conduct communication research (literature reviews, web searches, etc.) and writing tasks; coordinate subtasks; track timelines and resources with deliverable schedules and other tasks that support the execution of campaign and special project implementation plans.
Work products and documents related to conducting quantitative and qualitative communication program and impact evaluations; provide advice, technical assistance and leadership in communication and marketing priorities, plans, campaigns, strategies and practices.
Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail
Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Experience in MS Office
