Gameto is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated candidate for the position of Science Writer to directly report to and work with the CSO and the science team of Gameto. Gameto is in a pivotal stage of development as we bring our lead product Fertilo to the global market. Fertilo is aimed at improving IVF & egg freezing processes by using iPSC-derived ovarian support cells (OSCs) to mature immature eggs outside the body, making the process shorter, safer, and more accessible. Fertilo is currently being used clinically & commercially ex-US and is preparing for an upcoming US Clinical Trial.

A successful candidate will play an important role in bridging communication, development, and coordination activities between cross-disciplinary teams of cell engineers, embryologists, and clinical partners, working closely with the CSO to streamline and advance Gameto's research and clinical development. This candidate will lead efforts at science communication and presentation, working with the scientific team to effectively synthesize and disseminate our advances in the form of publications, abstracts, and scientific talks. Likewise, this candidate will work closely with the business development, marketing, and sales teams to more effectively communicate complex and nuanced scientific findings, outcomes, and innovations for broad audiences of clinicians, scientists, patients, and the general public.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of Gameto's research portfolio through existing and in-development publications and collaborations with scientists and clinicians.

  • Lead efforts to communicate findings in Gameto's R&D and clinical studies for a general audience in the form of write-ups, summaries, study reports, and slide decks for presentation

  • Technical writing and editing of manuscripts, abstracts, and scientific presentations

  • Technical writing and editing of regulatory documentation, clinical trial reports, and due diligence reports

  • Work closely with the business development team for coordination of key activities for scientific conferences, press releases, social media posts and marking events/materials to ensure effective and accurate display of scientific information, contextualization of results, and impact of findings

  • Work with the CSO and other science team leads to build slide decks, graphical figures, and write ups for internal and external presentations to key stakeholders

  • Engage actively and staying updated on advances and publications in the literature, ensuring the scientific team has access to the latest key innovations and findings in the field

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences or Related Field

  • PhD in Biology, Biomedical Sciences or Related Field

  • Preferred: At least 1 year experience in editorial or science communication position

  • Demonstrated track record of authorship on scientific publications

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Fluent in English. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

  • Proficiency in scientific technical writing, demonstrated through publication, medical writing, or science communication activities

  • Proficiency in the development of slide decks and graphical/artistic development for presentation of scientific data

  • Tech savvy, good with social media

  • Interested in fertility and women's health research and therapeutics development

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, problem-solving skills, ability to work both with business and science teams
