Teachers hourly rate of pay based on salary schedule
Under the general supervision of the School Assistant Principal, the teacher will be responsible to provide instruction to students who are in need of credit recovery or work with students to develop skills necessary to be successful at the high school level. Teachers will develop lessons according to the district and state standards, that will foster life-long learning and good citizenship.
Instructional Planning and Preparation
Demonstrate knowledge of special education disability areas
Design specialized instruction that best meets the needs of the students
Assess student learning
Communicate clearly and accurately
Engage students in learning in a welcoming environment
Provide feedback to students
Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to student needs
Communicate with parents regarding student performance, behavior and social development at conferences, through newsletters or written correspondence or more frequently if needed.
Responsible for due process and timely completion of all forms
Demonstrate professionalism in all work areas
Valid MN Education Teaching license required
Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment
Successful prior special education teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred
Experience with behavior interventions
