SCI AmeriCorps Fellows gain professional nonprofit experience as well as: leadership training program through SCI, access to college / graduate credit through an exclusive partnership with Merrimack College, and earn federal dollars towards higher education. SCI AmeriCorps is seeking candidates to fill positions for a 1700-hour service term (approximately 40 hours/week) from September 2024 through June 2025. Fellow Stipend Benefit Options (A or B) A. Receive a Taxable Stipend of $2,500 / month, paid bi-weekly (max stipend value = $25,000 per year). B. Receive a Taxable Stipend of $1,600 / month, paid bi-weekly, with Housing Placement & Homestay Benefit [$900 / month] provided by StudentRoomStay (max stipend value = $25,000 year). Essential Requirements
Commit to full term-of-service in local communities with diverse residents
Serve in-person for some or all service activities
Participate fully in all SCI AmeriCorps orientations, trainings, surveys and evaluations
Complete a Social Capital Youth Project for host site partner youth enrichment programming

Member Duties : At the Woburn Public Library, the SCI AmeriCorps Fellow core service activities will be: -Coordinate and manage out-of-school drop-in programming for teen patrons in collaboration with the Teen Librarian (Examples: 3D printing, arts & crafts, games, summer reading, etc.).
Lead community outreach in Woburn to increase teen engagement in Library program offerings through strategic partnerships and relationship building with the school district and local organizations.
Advise and coordinate 5-10 student members of the Library's Teen Advisory Board (TAB). Support development of the TAB by formalizing goals, meetings, documentation, and other organizing needs with assistance of Library administration and staff.
Service Schedule: Monday
Thursday 11:00 am
7:00 pm with occasional evening or weekend activities scheduled in advance.
