Summary: Responsible for assisting a site specific School's Out Site Director in planning, supervising, and
delivering programmed activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Assists in the daily operation of the after school program by:
a. Interacting with students, staff, parents, and the school community in a constructive manner to create a
positive, and welcoming learning environment.
b. Providing general supervision to students. Ensures guidelines for participation, inclusion, conduct, and
discipline are followed to maintain a safe, enjoyable, learning environment.
c. Monitoring student transitions and dismissal from activities.
d. Serving as a liaison and maintaining relationships with students, school administrators, parents/guardians,
volunteers, and community members.
e. Assists with the coordination and supervision of students during monthly field trips.
f. Attends meetings as needed.
g. Providing regular feedback to the Site Director about activities, recommended actions, needs, concerns,
and highlights. Reports incidents involving students and/or staff immediately to the School's Out
Coordinator.
2.Assist the Site Director in administrative processes including, but not limited to: attendance, data collection
and entry, training staff, communications, activity planning, and performing enrollment procedures.
3.Participates in trainings and professional development, as determined appropriate, by the School's Out
Coordinator.
4.May perform other duties as assigned.
General Responsibilities: In the absence of the Site Director and/or Head Counselor, may perform supervisory
responsibilities of program activities and staff. Assists with student supervision and problem resolution. All
responsibilities are carried out in accordance with District policies and procedures and applicable laws. Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

Education and/or Experience: Two year college or equivalent experience preferred. Experience in program
leadership and previous school employment preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR.)
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, journals, technical procedures, or
governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to
effectively present information and respond to questions from parents, individuals, and groups from the greater
school community. Math Skills: Ability to work with math concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and demonstrates
an ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Skills: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to
interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several
abstract and concrete variables.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff,
and the community is essential. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and
written form is required. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board policies
is required. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are typical of those that must be met by an employee to

The employee frequently reaches with hands and arms. The employee is required to interact with students, staff,
and the public, and to meet deadlines with severe time constraints. Is responsible for the safety, well-being of
students, and the work output of staff. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the
ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will drive occasionally.
