Seneca's Unconditional Education Mosaic program partners with San Lorenzo Unified School District schools to implement services that identify and intervene on behalf of the community's most vulnerable children. The School-Based Therapist is responsible for the ongoing provision of culturally responsive mental health services including individual, family and group therapy, case management, and consultation services for a caseload of youth and families in a public-school setting.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with a trans-disciplinary team to implement academic, behavioral, and therapeutic services for students in need of intervention

  • Implement research-based interventions aligned with the three tiers of the MTSS pyramid, including individual, group, and family therapy as well as case management for identified students

  • Provide coaching and professional development to support school staff in experiencing success with all students

  • Engage caregivers in the educational process, providing frequent opportunities to discuss student growth and needs

  • Consult school staff on safety assessments, mental health crises, and accessing social services

  • Document interventions and provide necessary reports on student progress

  • Participate in regular supervision to enhance practice

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, professional clinical counseling, or psychology

  • Eligible to register with the California BBS

  • Experience working with youth in a mental health or education setting is strongly preferred

  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel between schools in San Lorenzo

  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to the growth and development of an engaged program culture

  • TB test clearance, fingerprints, and COVID-19 vaccination

Schedule

  • School based schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: 8 AM- 4:30 PM

  • 5 weeks of paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and additional paid school break days

Benefits

  • Now hiring for the upcoming academic year!

  • Starting at $67,374-$81,374

  • As of July 7th, this starting range will increase to $71,080-$85,080

  • Actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role

  • $2000 sign-on bonus (for new Seneca employees in this position)

  • $4000 salary increase upon licensure

  • Opportunity for a salary increase upon passing a bilingual language proficiency exam
