School Teacher P11 - Full Time Substitute Teacher

This position is responsible for the delivery of specified course content in the absence of the classroom teacher. This is a full-time substitute teacher position responsible for providing a safe educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth.

This position involves working with patients who are hospitalized with severe psychiatric disorders. Students, ages 3 through 26, are provided services in Cognitive Impairment, Emotional Impairment, Specific Learning Disability, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Education

Possession of a bachelor's degree in a field of education.

Experience

No specific type or amount is required.The Department of Corrections will not hire individuals who have been convicted of a felony or who have felony charges pending, in accordance with Public Act 140 of 1996.

Possession of current, appropriate Michigan teacher's certificate issued by the State Board of Education.
