Description:
The Nassau BOCES Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology is seeking a School Social Worker to provide services to students in various BOCES programs or non-public schools throughout Nassau County. The social worker will work closely with the administration of the assigned school(s). Students benefiting from this service may include those with social, emotional, behavioral, and/or learning challenges. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Participate in the Committee for Special Education (CSE) process for students at various locations
Provide individual and/or group counseling sessions for students
Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate referrals and consultation
Collaborate with all members of the school community and participate in staff meetings
Maintain accurate, appropriate, and timely records/reports
Requirements:
NYSED Certification: School Social Worker and a valid LMSW or LCSW license are required
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
2+ years' experience as a social worker is preferred
Salary:
$64,464.21 - $82,620.73
