POSITION: SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST ___________________________________________________________________________________
POSITION TITLE: School Psychologist, Full-Time
LOCATION: Mill River Unified Union School District: Clarendon Elementary School, Wallingford Elem. School,
Shrewsbury Mountain School, Tinmouth Mountain School, Mill River Union High School
SUPERVISED BY: Director and Assistant Director of Student Services
WORKS WITH: Students, Parents, Teachers, Administration, Community Stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.The candidate demonstrates excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills across all interactions.
2.The candidate must possess a Vermont Educator's license as a School Psychologist, or be determined eligible for such, subject to all federal and state licensure regulations.
3.The candidate demonstrates the ability and necessary licensure status to provide responsive, effective, and high-quality counseling services to students aged 3-21.
4.The candidate demonstrates the ability to administer and interpret a variety of standardized psychoeducational and cognitive evaluation batteries using technically sound and precise administration practices.
5.The candidate possesses an in-depth knowledge of the Vermont Special Education Regulations and Section 504 Regulations.
6.The candidate possesses knowledge and experience conducting comprehensive special education evaluations and producing written
evaluation reports.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Administer standardized and/or diagnostic screening measures and classroom observations to students with existing IEP's in grades PreK-12 in order to aid service teams in ongoing educational treatment planning for both the short and long-term success of the student;
2.Administer comprehensive special education evaluations to students PreK-12;
3.Participate as a key member of school-based Education Support Teams and other MTSS workgroup(s);
4.Provide 1:1 and/or small-group counseling services to PreK-12 students on IEP's as assigned;
5.Work as a consultant with district educators and administrators to address all aspects of social, emotional, and behavioral intervention planning and the implementation of best-practice approaches for both individual and collective groups of students
6.Assist the district with furthering its goals and initiatives relative to the development, implementation, and revision of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support;
7.Other responsibilities as appropriate and aligned with licensure standards and state and federal special education regulations.
