About the Department of Correctional Health Services Correctional Health Services (CHS) is an industry-leading healthcare organization for the incarcerated population, providing medical, dental, mental health, psychiatric care, and substance abuse treatment (i.e., Medication-Assisted Treatment, and Opioid Treatment Program). Position Qualifications We recognize your time is valuable, so please apply if you meet the following required qualifications Education * Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited university or college Experience * Two years of experience in psychological evaluation, administration, and interpretation of psychological tests Other Requirements * A valid, unrestricted psychologist license, issued by the Arizona State Board of Psychologist Examiners * Must meet requirements for supervision of associate-level licensed and unlicensed staff with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners and the Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners Our Preferred Candidate has * One or more years of experience supervising other clinical staff * Experience in Correctional Health Care * Experience triaging internal and external referrals * Experience coordinating the completion of Mental Health Petitions with community providers * Certified Correctional Health Professional - Mental Health * Bilingual in Spanish and English Essential Job Tasks The tasks listed are a representation and not an all-inclusive list of essential job tasks for this position. * Provides psychological evaluation, consultation, and treatment of patients while at the clinics and in the mental health unit as requested * Tracks and monitors mental health unit admissions as closely as possible, including staffing cases with unlicensed mental health staff prior to admission * Establishes effective, sustainable, integrated, and collaborative suicide prevention and intervention approaches and practices applicable to all mental health staff roles * Enhances and optimizes care and service delivery through the development and implementation of policies and clinical practice guidelines * Reviews the acute, SMI, and clinical cases requiring a higher skill set, such as death penalty and closed custody cases, and supports documentation for performance and care * Provides clinical supervision for licensed and unlicensed mental health staff assigned to the outpatient setting * Participates in multidisciplinary and collaborative efforts, particularly with psychiatry, medical and custody staff, to enhance service delivery, build interdepartmental functioning, and manage change initiatives * Serves as a primary resource for training and professional development of mental health staff assigned to outpatient settings * Participate in weekly and bi-weekly team meetings, quality improvement meetings, professional staff meetings, and other ad hoc meetings. * Participates in or conducts Grand Rounds or Complex Case meetings with staff, medical providers, community providers, residents, and medical students assigned by the Mental Health Director. * Meets with peers, staff (CHS and MCSO), and community providers as requested and scheduled by the Mental Health Director, CHS Medical Director, or CHS Department Director. Working Conditions Must work in a jail within close physical proximity to others. May have frequent work interruptions requiring flexibility and adaptability.
