The educational program provides instruction for students working on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and provides opportunities for students to obtain their high school equivalency and/or vocational training opportunities. Students at Cabarrus YDC have been committed to this facility by the juvenile court system. Student capacity at this facility is up to 120 students. The school operates on a 12- month calendar and observes state government holidays.</p><p>Note to Current State Employees:</p><p>The salary grade for this position is ED27. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Click on this LINK for additional information.</p><p>Responsibilities of this position will include but not limited to:</p><ul><li><p>Supervision of educational staff at Cabarrus YDC and assigned detention center(s) - seven DPI licensed teachers, data manager, education assistant, and substitute teacher; conduct evaluations using the NCEES and NCVIP systems.</p></li><li><p>Provide leadership to ensure effective instruction for all students, including compliance with the delivery of special education services and maintenance of EC files.</p></li><li><p>Facilitates professional development opportunities for education staff.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with other professional sections (facility director, youth counselors, social work, clinical, court counselors, etc.) to develop and implement educational, treatment and transition plans for students.</p></li><li><p>Communicate with community-based schools to support the transition of students.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with community partners, such as local community college and other agencies, to provide educational opportunities. Effectively manage the facility's education budget.</p></li><li><p>Collects and analyzes student performance and outcome data to improve instructional and environmental practices.</p></li><li><p>Communicate with the Director of Juvenile Education Services and other central office staff.</p></li><li><p>Serve on assigned committee(s) to support advancement of Juvenile Justice goals and initiatives.</p></li><li><p>Other duties as assigned.</p></li></ul><p>Minimum Education and Experience Requirements</p><p>Master's degree and state licensure in school administration (DPI licensure area 012) with three years' Educational Administrative Experience.</p><p>Supplemental and Contact Information</p><p>The N.C.
