Function of Position: To provide psycchological services which assist teachers, administrators, and parents in selecting and arranging the most favorable conditions of learning for students.
To serve as a learning expert in special education programs. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS a. Education: Masters degree and credential requirements b.
Experience: Two years classroom teaching and completition of school psychologist internship or equivalent. c. Knowledge of: Learning theory, tests and measurement, laws pertaining to special education. d.
Ability to: Communicate with students, parents and other staff members effectively. e. License Required:
School psychologist credential or Pupil Personnel Service for School psychology. TYPICAL DUTIES Assess ability and capacity of students to accomplish tasks required by the curriculum in the regular school environment and in special education programs. Provide information for teachers and administrators to understand the developmental needs of students.
Assist parents to understand and support student educational development. Serve as the school study team case carrier for students referred for evaluation. Serve as learning specialist for learning and severely handicapped instructional programs.
Serve as a liaison between the district and community service agencies. Perform other duties as assigned. SUPERVISION Under the immediate supervision of the Director of Student Services.
