Job Summary Job Summary WEST COVINA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT ANNOUNCES OPENINGS FOR School Psychologist Interns 6 hours per day/5 days per week August 2024 - June 2025 POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of a credentialed school psychologist, the intern will assess and complete psychoeducational evaluations so as facilitate the development of effective educational programs designs to meet individual student needs. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple cases concurrently
Ability to develop and maintain positive rapport with students, parents, staff and to interact effectively with a variety of audiences
Actively participate in assigned site team meetings
Through use of techniques and resources utilized in assessing, evaluation, and diagnosing conduct psychoeducational assessments of referred pupils, identify student needs, and recommend supportive services
Consult with school personnel regarding children with emotional and behavioral issues and assist teachers in using the principles of behavior management and other useful techniques in the classroom
Provide assistance to support teams in writing a student's Individual Education Plan
Provide consultation and assistance to teachers regarding attainment of IEP goals
Prepare written and oral reports providing detailed analysis of pupils' psychological and behavioral challenges
Assess the counseling needs of identified special education pupils, develop and implement appropriate IEP counseling goals
