School Psychologist Intern

PERSONNEL ANNOUNCEMENT District Psychologist/Counselor Part Time Psychologist/Counselor plans, organizes, administers and provides leadership for the District's psychological services and handicapped education services to effectively deal with the differing needs of special students to enable students to benefit from the educational opportunities to the maximum of their ability. District Psychologist, performs assessments and IEP planning for pupils, consults in classrooms and provides support and consultation to parents and pupils.

Provides counseling services to students. QUALIFICATIONS: v Knowledge of the general needs and behavior of children. v Ability to communicate in writing for the purpose of composing the required reports and other correspondence. v Ability to communicate orally sufficient to express ideas, thoughts, and instruction clearly to clients, community and staff. v Ability to conduct potentially volatile parent, students and staff conferences. v Ability to handle stressful situations involving emotional students, staff and parents. v Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities. v Knowledge of modern psychological principles, processes and techniques. v Ability to collaborate effectively. v Ability to coordinate work and control assignments. v Ability to work independently, to make sound decisions, and to evaluate the results of those decisions. v Knowledge of and ability to follow laws, rules, regulations and policies. v Ability to drive a car. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: v Masters' Degree in Psychology. v Degree in Counseling desirable. v Pupil Personnel Service credential authorizing school psychology/counseling services. v Five (5) years work experience as School Psychologist/Counselor desirable v Experience coordinating special education services desirable.
