Leman Academy is seeking a School Psychologist to provide expertise in the development of appropriate social, emotional and educational development of students for Leman Academy Campuses.

SUMMARY OF JOB
In addition to the development of appropriate social, emotional and educational development of students for Leman Academy Campuses, the School Psychologist promotes behavioral management, counseling and consultation, and educational evaluation. The Psychologist establishes and maintains an atmosphere which emphasizes mutual respect, self-worth, self-discipline, confidence, cooperation, consideration and responsibility and conducts himself/herself in accordance with Leman Academy Performs duties as assigned, including those required by State Statutes and/or District policies and regulations.
Responsible for instructing scholars using the classical model of learning combined with data-driven decision-making. Will create daily lesson plans, participate in ongoing professional training sessions, meet with Administration and the Professional Development team for instructional planning based on assessment data, and work with grade level teams of teachers to collaboratively plan and also form common unit assessments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Master's degree
Arizona certification as a School Psychologist (PSS)
Preferred:
Two years of experience as a practicing school psychologist
Training within an APA approved school psychology program
Doctorate in School Psychology
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Serves as a child advocate, promoting the educational, social and emotional growth of students and maintains a positive attitude toward his/her profession and work with students
Provides consultation with students, teachers, other school personnel and parents regarding behavioral and/or academic concerns in the regular classroom and/or outside the classroom environment
Serves as the leader of the Exceptional Scholar Services at school site level
Provides individual psychoeducational evaluations
Makes program and Special Education Placement recommendations
Reviews the placement of Special Education students
Provides the individual and/or group counseling and related services to students
Serves as a resource to special committees, school administrators and other school personnel
Serves as a liaison between school and community organizations
Provides informational programs for students, teachers, other school personnel and parents
Conducts educational research
Disseminates information regarding current psychological research issues and practices
Cooperates with the training and supervision of university students
Participates in professional growth activities
Maintains the high standards of psychological services in Leman Academy Schools
Works closely with parents and the community to better the school's capability to serve the needs of students
Performs supervisory functions as required for the health, welfare and safety of studen
Exhibits patience, courtesy and tact when dealing with others
Promotes and supports district-wide educational advancement in 21st Century Skills.
Integrates knowledge and skills that are relevant to the 21st Century
Performs related duties as assigned

As a Leman Academy of Excellence Employee, you shall be afforded benefits if you work thirty (30) hours or more each week, all as prescribed in the Personnel Policies of the School, and such revision thereof as are made and approved by the Board of Directors of the School all of which have been adopted by the School. Benefits eligibility and enrollment for Employees working thirty (30) hours or more per week include but are not limited to:
Voluntary medical insurance, vision plan, and dental plan; enrollment for Employees beginning employment are effective the first of the month following start date of full time employment unless agreed upon by administration.
Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Long and Short Term Disability benefits are effective the first day of the month following start date of full time employment.
If the Employee is terminated, the Employee will be covered with all benefits described above until the last day of the month in which they terminate.
Benefits eligibility and enrollment continue for current admin/Employees who sign a new Agreement. Retirement plan and long-term disability eligibility and enrollment are based on the beginning date of employment in the initial Agreement.
