We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic School Porter to join our team and play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students and staff year-round!

Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeteria, and other school facilities. This includes sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and emptying trash.

• Set up and arrange furniture for classrooms, meetings, events, and assemblies.

• Assist with deliveries and move equipment throughout the school.

• Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, replacing air filters, and reporting larger repair needs.

• Ensure the safety and security of the school building by locking doors and windows at the end of the day and reporting any suspicious activity.

• Assist with maintaining the school grounds by keeping pathways clear of debris and litter (seasonal).

• Help prepare classrooms for standardized testing.

• Provide courteous and helpful service to all staff, students, and visitors.

• Follow all safety protocols and procedures.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Porter or Facilities Manager.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Minimum of one year of experience in a custodial or maintenance role.

• Experience working in a school environment a plus.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality service.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Reliability, punctuality, and a positive work ethic.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must be able to pass a background check.
