The job of School Office Assistant is for the purpose of providing clerical support to assigned personnel; communicating information to staff and the public; providing office processes support; providing complete and accurate records, including attendance records; and providing information and/or direction as may be requested. This job reports to the Site Administrator or District/Department Supervisor.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from high school or equivalency.
Six months of clerical experience. (For more information, please view the Job Description) EXAMINATION PROCEDURES This is a promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test or performance test and a structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each test part of the examination process.
Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each test part. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months.
The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future permanent and substitute vacancies. Applicants who may need reasonable accommodation for interviewing or testing must notify the Personnel Department at (562) 690-2321, three business days prior to the testing date. Date of Examination Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email or telephone of the time, date and place of the examination(s).
