The School of Music at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) occasionally needs to hire Music Lecturers to teach in its Bachelor's/Master's program for the Fall of 2024 & Spring of 2025. This position is contingent upon the enrollment and scheduling needs of the Music program. Responsibilities include delivering quality instruction in the program, advising students, and participating in scholarship activities serving the college, university, or local community as needed.
UTRGV faculty will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to student success and to advancing the university, college, and program missions, as well as a commitment to UTRGV's guiding principles (https://www.utrgv.edu/strategic-plan/), which include promoting access to postsecondary education to a diverse student body and to become one of the largest and most successful Hispanic-serving emerging research institutions in the U.S.A.
Teaching assignments include Music Theory, and Applied Lessons in a variety of instruments.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's in Music is required from an accredited university.
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
University performance and teaching experience.
Preferred Qualification
Doctorate of Musical Arts Preferred from an accredited university.
Performance and teaching experience on the instrument, ability to recruit students, secondary teaching experience. Preference is given to applicants who are willing to. teach at both the Brownsville and Edinburg campuses. Opportunities will be available at both campuses
