ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting and Compliance:

  • Reports to the Dean(s) of Education, Assistant Dean(s) of Education, and the Director of Accreditation and Assessment on all assigned assessment responsibilities

  • Work closely with Program Directors to provide program-specific reports, focusing on program accreditation and reporting

  • Assist with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) annual reporting to maintain accreditation which includes a mid-term and seven-year accreditation visit

  • Comply with annual reporting to Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) to comply with state and federal requirements

  • Prepare for periodic site visits and annual reporting to the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)

  • Assist with School of Education (SOE) programmatic assessments and evaluations required by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research (IER)

Collaboration and Data Management:

  • Collaborate with the SOE Data Team to ensure data is requested and received as needed for reporting purposes

  • Gather and prepare data to display in easy-to-read professional formats for reporting purposes

  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Education and Experience

  • Minimum

o Master's degree in Education, Technology or a related field

o Experience in educational assessment

o Proficiency with technology tools used in assessment including Microsoft Excel and other online assessment systems

o Familiarity with accreditation procedures and expectations

  • Preferred

o Doctoral degree in Education, Technology or a related field

ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOB

Communication and Comprehension

  • Communicate assessment information with Deans and Assistant Deans

  • Constructively collaborate with Program Directors and Faculty

  • Communicate informational needs with other staff members

  • Liaise effectively with the university's Information Technology (IT) department

  • Understand and interpret statistical and numerical data from various performance software platforms

  • Comprehend informational needs of various individuals and departments in the School of Education

  • Actively participant in various assessment-related committees

Problem-Solving

  • Resolve discrepancies in data analysis

  • Design and execute data retrieval and analysis in collaboration with various individuals and departments

  • Participate actively and informatively in addressing School of Education assessment and accreditation needs.

Physical and Sensory Abilities

  • Frequently sit for extended periods to perform deskwork, computer work, or type on a keyboard.

  • Regularly hear and speak in order to communicate orally in an effective and in a professional manner

  • Occasionally stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building

  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop as required

  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds

Work Environment

  • The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate.
