PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Projects Manager assists in the development of plans and procedures that support the established philosophy, direction, and policies of the School Nutrition Program.

Assists with the managing of financial operations of the School Nutrition Program Ensures that new funding opportunities which support the School Nutrition Program is allocated correctly and aligns with the strategic goals of the department. This position will be responsible for the efficient operation of the SNP, including interpreting and assessing data specific to the SNP with regards to participation, food cost, labor cost, cost per meal, and meals per man hour. This position will also analyze menu, product, promotion, and marketing impact on student participation.

Assists the Executive Director School Nutrition in developing and implementing professional growth opportunities for staff by providing appropriate training activities in concert with the Training Manager and provides direction and support for Central Office staff. REPORTS TO: Executive Director School Nutrition SALARY SCHEDULE:

A-5 WORK DAYS: 250 REQUIREMENTS: Educational Level: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and training.

Preferred: Area of concentration in accounting, finance, or business a plus. Experience, Skill and Certification: Completion of GaDoe required O.N.E. (Orientation for Nutrition Employees) and Manager Pathways, and Culinary Pathways within one year of hire.

Valid ServSafe Manager Certification issued by the National Restaurant Association or ability to obtain certification within the first 90 days of hire.

Valid driver's license and availability of private transportation, or the availability to get to off-site meetings. 5-8 years related experience. Experience in high volume institutional foodservice.

Experience with governmental rules, regulations, and policies. High level of computer aptitude used in problem solving, forward progress and new implementations. Managerial ability encompassing organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Preferred: Experience in a supervisory position within a fast-paced organization. Regulatory experience a plus. Experience with vendor management a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Maintains the strictest confidence concerning personnel, students, and operational concerns of the district.

Maintains current information on grant and funding availability applicable to the SNP.

Acts as the key-contact and provides support oversight for the Satellite Program, Culinary Student internship program, and the SPED/SNP cooperative program. Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude, and conversation. Assist in the preparation and analysis of all preliminary monthly statistical & financial reports developed by the SNP for agreement and comparison to district monthly budget reconciliation.

Monitor monthly revenue and expenditures of each school site to ensure alignment with planned budget. Coordinate with the Staffing Manager regarding personnel management: including addressing staff vacancies, scheduled interviews, and new hire on-boarding and training. Assists Executive Director in determining staff requirements for each foodservice location throughout the district.

Manage and coordinate special projects and initiatives as assigned, from inception to implementation, inclusive of software updates and conversions. Assist in the preparing, maintaining, and issuing of SNP monthly progress reports. Informs, interprets, and recommends the effects of current and impending state and federal legislation as it applies to the Nutrition Program.

Performs other duties as assigned by the SNP Executive Director. Additional Responsibilities: Respond to routine questions and requests with tact and diplomacy in a timely manner.

Serve as a role model for students and staff. Establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships. Maintain a level of approachability by administration and staff.

Work with staff to foster their professional growth. Represents the District and attends National, State, and Local meetings to gain knowledge beneficial to the continued progress of the SNP and the District and provide staff development to support and enhance program efforts; serves on local, state, and National teams and committees. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director School Nutrition.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing. Effective, active listening skills.

Ability to work effectively with others. Organizational and problem-solving skills. Must be able to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption, attend to task, remember multiple assignments given over long periods of time, and understand the theories behind several related concepts.

Considerable knowledge of core financial practices including budget preparation, strategic planning, fund accounting, procurement, and financial reporting. Terms of Employment Incumbents will receive an annual contract. The work calendar will be 250 days.

Salary will be determined based on level of certification and allowable experience.
