PRIMARY FUNCTION: Coordinates identification, purchase and installation of food service equipment for School Nutrition and Capital Projects.

Serves as the liaison between School Nutrition Program teams, project administrators, maintenance personnel and construction managers. REPORTS TO:Executive Director School Nutrition SALARY SCHEDULE: Teacher WORK DAYS: 229 REQUIREMENTS:

Education Level: Bachelor's degree. In lieu of the Bachelor's Degree a combination of experience and education may be used to meet the Bachelor's Degree requirement. [8 years directly related experience: 2 years of similar work experience equals 1 year of college] Preferred:

Master's Degree Experience, Skill, and Certification: Minimum of 3 years of experience in school foodservice or related fields. Familiarity with foodservice equipment [steamers, convection ovens, tilt-skillets, walk-ins, reach-in coolers, etc.] operation, maintenance, and repair a plus.

Eligible for Georgia Professional Standards Commission School Nutrition Director (P-12) BS or S Certification, minimum Level 4 at date of hire; must obtain a clear renewable School Nutrition Director (P-12) Certificate, Level 5 within 3 years from date of employment OR Eligible for Induction Certificate in the field of School Nutrition Director (GaPSC Rule 505-2-.04)Pass or exempt the Program Admission assessment. Be accepted into GaPSC-approved School Nutrition Director Certification preparation program or, If no program is available, receive a GaPSC evaluation of prescribed School Nutrition Director certification course work. Preferred: Current ServSafe Certification from the National Restaurant Association.

ServSafe certification will be required within 90 days of hire date and must be maintained throughout employment. Valid driver's license and availability of private transportation, or the availability to get to off-site meetings. Ability to understand K12 foodservice challenges and their impact on menus and equipment.

Knowledge and understanding of food and equipment bid and purchasing policies and procedures. Ability to review, reconcile, and compile bids, data, and budgets, etc. Ability to organize and maintain data and records as required by Federal, State, and local regulations.

Ability to rethink service flow and incorporate multiuse equipment. The ability to understand the systems, costs, options, and research needed to write a strong foodservice equipment procurement bid. Conversant with and demonstrated ability to stay current with changes in computer-based technology at user level.

Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues. Must be able to collaborate effectively. Demonstrate effective oral, written and interpersonal communication.

Demonstrate excellent organizational skills. Ability to assist in the develop of department planning and operational procedures; specifically, in assigned areas. Ability to assist in areas of budgeting, expenditures and disbursement, labor issues and program efficiencies.

Knowledge of SCCPSS policies and procedures. Ability to forecast manpower and facility's needs. Ability to coordinate and collaborate with Federal, state and local organizations and departments to establish and execute responsibilities.

The ability to build relational trust through empathy, commitment, compassion, patience, and positivity. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Provides projections and cost estimates for replacement of food service equipment for Capital and Nutrition budgets.

Reviews School Nutrition Program equipment specification submittals for new and renovated schools Provides technical assistance to project administrators in construction of new kitchens. Provides technical assistance to Principals, Area Supervisors, and project administrators for kitchen renovation projects. Develops and maintains specifications for large food service equipment.

Coordinates purchase and installation of replacement kitchen equipment with Capital Projects, Facilities Services, and Schools. Maintains foodservice equipment database including acquisition, life expectancy, repair data and disposition. Coordinates equipment depreciation for reporting to State Department of Education Develops and maintains specifications for bids and supports administration of contracts for:Large food service equipment Small food service equipment Safety and Sanitation Supplies Equipment Maintenance Maintains reference manuals for equipment and MSDS sheets for chemicals used in school kitchens.

Conducts on-site-walk-through of new kitchen sites with District contracted teams, facilities Service personnel and School Nutrition Program Teams prior to school opening. Participates as an active member of the system-wide integrated Pest Management Team. Assists in organizing and conducting in-service training and staff development for SNP managers, leads, and associates on the proper and safe operation of all equipment.

Serves as contact between Equipment Monitoring Service and the District for all equipment within the SNP. Serves as contact between SCCPSS Maintenance Team & Contracted Maintenance Companies and the SNP. Performs the duties of the Purchasing Manager during any period of extended absence.

Performs other duties as assigned by the SNP Executive Director TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Incumbents will be considered "at will." Appropriate pay will be determined based on the Grade as determined by Human Resources and allowable experience. This position is considered to be "essential personnel, critical staff" when there is an event that creates security challenges or disruptions to district operations. This position may be required to work during identified periods of an emergency as defined in Policy Regulation GBRB-R, Title:

Professional Personnel Time Schedules. The work calendar will be 229 days.
