The North Country Supervisory Union is looking for a school nurse leader. This position will be collaborating and supporting district school nurses and LPNs. In order to fulfill these duties of support and coordination, the school nurse leader will spend minimal amount of time in direct clinical care.
Specific job goal: The school nurse leader supports the total SU's health service program, by providing nursing leadership throughout the SU.
The school nurse leader develops a needs assessment, plans and implements programs, and provides for continuous quality assurance and evaluation. The School Nurse Leader coordinates the clinical aspects of the comprehensive SU health program, collaborating with other members of the health services and health education team. The school nurse leader collaborates with community providers, partners and organizations in addressing the health concerns affecting children and adolescents.
Minimum Qualifications:
Have a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Vermont;
Possess a minimum of a baccalaureate in nursing from an accredited nursing program (a master's degree in nursing or related field is preferred);
Have 4 years of clinical experience which includes community health and/or pediatrics. In addition, a minimum of 3 years' experience in school nursing is preferred.
Valid cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid certification.
Salary and Benefits: Salary based on experience and benefits prescribed by the North Country Supervisory Union Board.
