Valid RN License, as required by contract
Pediatric experience is desirable, but not necessary.
Basic Life Support CPR - Professional Rescuer or Healthcare Provider card
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
The Opportunity
We service students with a variety of disabilities and focus strongly on a proven behavioral management model to help students see success. Our students have not been successful in general education and require the smaller setting and individual attention. This program has three classrooms. Each classroom has up to ten students and full-time paraprofessionals / teaching-assistants.
You will be responsible for the basic nurse duties for the school (around 30 students). This includes wellness checks, treating minor injuries, and evaluating illness throughout the day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Shift: Monday-Friday 8 hours/day.
● Review immunization records for school age children
● Assist with Medical/Dental Screenings
● Prepare and file state reports as required by law
● Conduct audiometric screenings
● Conduct scoliosis screenings
● Conduct vision screenings
● Conduct Height and Weight Screenings
● Provide other optional screenings as needed, ex. Blood Pressure, Lice
● Maintain student health records
● Provide the following services as promulgated by individual State Law/Regulation:
● Observe and recommend to principal, exclusion of students who show evidence of communicable diseases and/or whose immunization records are not received from parent/guardian after numerous attempts.
● Submit monthly report of health services and screenings performed to Regional Director
● Notify parent/guardian if a screening defect is found upon screening and recommend appropriate follow-up
