SCHOOL NURSE - DISTRICT WIDE

SPECIAL SERVICE PROVIDERS ARE HIRED ON A YEAR ONLY CONTRACT - CONTRACT RENEWAL FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR WILL BE DONE IN THE SPRING AND CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT IS BASED ON DEPARTMENT NEEDS AND BOARD OF EDUCATION APPROVAL

THIS POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR A ONE TIME SIGNING BONUS OF $2,500 PAYABLE ON JUNE 15, 2020 AND

A RETENTION BONUS OF $2,500 AFTER THREE YEARS OF EMPLOYMENT PAYABLE ON JUNE 15, 2022

New Teacher/Licensed Staff Orientation:

New teaching/new licensed staff orientation will be held on July 23, 24 and 25, 2019

Experience:

District 49 credits each year of verified full-time/full-year K-12 teaching experience up to 15 years.

Work Schedule:
182 contracted work days

Interviews are site-based and not conducted by the Human Resources office.

Qualifications and Expectations:

  • BA/BS from accredited college or university

  • Valid Colorado Special Services Provider License endorsed in area of assignment: 05-21 School Nurse

  • Please note that a Colorado Department of Regulatory Affairs (DORA) nursing license is not sufficient for this position. The successful candidate must hold the DORA license as well as the Colorado Department of Education issued Special Services Provider license or have same license in process with CDE.

SUMMARY: Responsible for aspects of student attendance, discipline documentation, off campus privileges, and October Count. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Report and maintain student attendance daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually. Contact parents regarding attendance per building procedures. * Generate discipline referrals, document resolutions, compile and complete necessary paperwork related to student discipline. * Maintain a system of recording off-campus passes, locker assignments and homework requests. * Coordinate collection and preparation of state and federal reports related to student attendance. * Compile, store and retrieve data using computer. * Generate reports i.e. CDE, October Count, students attendance and Truancy documents. * Assist Attendance Secretary when necessary. * Performs other duties as assigned.
