POSITION: School Nurse

REPORTS TO: Principal and Coordinator of Health Services

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide general health care services to students

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Graduate of an accredited school for registered nurses, BSN preferred.

• Successful experience as a school nurse preferred.

• Experience with nursing procedures (tracheotomy, G-tube feeding, catheterization, diabetic care, etc.) highly preferred.

• Knowledgeable of school health procedures including state and federal mandates.

• Desire and demonstrated ability to work with school-aged children.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Current and valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license.

Current and valid CPR certification.

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary in accordance with Hartford Federation of School Health Professionals (2015-2018 - Appendix A, Salary Schedule 5A: ($42,480-$65,194). 10 month work year.

Hartford Federation of School Health Professionals (HFSHP).
