Under the direction of the Director of Student Services or his/her designee, the School Nurse is responsible for providing required health services and education for students identified with health needs; training staff on the administration of medication and on-site procedures; ensure students and staff are in compliance with state laws pertaining to immunizations; universal precautions, infectious disease control, illness policy and assisting in maintaining health related competency levels for staff in accordance with District policies.

Requirements / Qualifications

Resume Letter of Interest Three (3) Letters of Recommendation, dated within one (1) year. Education, Experience, Licenses and Other Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university. Valid California registration as a Registered Nurse (RN). School Nurse Services Credential (SNSC), or enrolled in a program within six (6) months of employment. Valid First Aid and CPR certificates issued by an authorized agency.

Valid California Driver's License. Two (2) years of related nursing experience in a school or clinical environment including work with children, adolescents and special education-related functions. Bilingual/Bi-literate in Spanish desirable
