Vergennes Union High School is seeking a School Nurse (.40 FTE) for the 2023-2024 school year.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Current, valid Vermont RN license
CPR and First Aid certified
Several years of clinical experience that includes pediatric and community/family centered nursing

Areas of student health care responsibilities include:
Assessment
First aid
Health screening
Medication administration
Assist in communicable disease control
Immunization assessment
Attend student meetings as necessary
Assessment and care of students with special needs

Additional areas of responsibilities include:
Compilation of statistical information
Maintenance of health and medication records/logs
Accident reporting
Member of the Wellness and Safety Teams
Student/staff emergency card maintenance
Preparation of required state reports
Providing staff and parents with information of school health policies, and other pertinent health resource information
Providing interpretation of health information to staff and parents
Promoting a healthy school environment

A Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred. The ideal candidate will also have excellent leadership, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
