NUTRITION CENTER JOB OPENING

SCHOOL LUNCH DIETICIAN

THOMAS E. CARROLL NUTRITION CENTER

ANNUAL SALARY: $75,000

Supervises staff in the operation of breakfast, lunch, snack, supper, and special meals in assigned schools. Supervises and oversees all areas of food preparation and service. Maintains accurate records and reports as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with major study or at least 24 semester hours/credits in:

• Food & Nutrition

• Registered Dietitian

• Sustainability

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Adherence to all regulations of the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act and State of Connecticut Healthy Food Certification Legislation.

• Implementation of departmental policies as set by the Director and the Bridgeport Board of Education.

• Responsible for the import and accuracy in menu nutritional values.

• Accurate and proper reporting and recording systems by cafeteria personnel in schools.

• Auditing software applications in all schools.

• Instructing cafeteria personnel in health, safety, sanitary practices, serving procedures and the use of equipment.

• Inventories in all assigned schools.

• Coordinate with the Chef Manager & Warehouse supervisor on the production and delivery of all specialty meals. This includes but is not limited to nondairy beverages, meal modifications, Gluten intolerances and the Feeding & Swallowing program.

• Provide nutritional information to nurses.

• Special projects as assigned.

• Instructing and directing staff on customer relations and proper food presentation.

• Reviewing foodservice operations to ensure compliance with program regulations.

• Reviewing and auditing the ordering of food and non- food items and inventory control.

• Tracking sales and meal counts.

• Plans Food service sustainability initiative assigned by the director.
