THE POSITION: The School Health Services Intern is responsible for assisting and supporting the ACOE School Health Services team and programs related to our Youth Advisory Board (YAB), Peer Education training, Restorative Practices and TSEL (transformative social emotional learning) programs.

This position works collaboratively with school health leadership, ACOE program managers, YAB Committee, school sites and students. This job reports to the assigned supervisor. This is a School Internship position which will end on June 30th, 2025, or before, if any of the requirements are not met.

LOCATION: In-Person: ACOE - Winton Main Office 313 West Winton Ave Hayward, CA 94544 TYPICAL DUTIES: • Assist with management of all Youth Advisory Board (YAB) projects and events, including all planning meetings with internal leadership teams and external community partners. • Assist with development and delivery of 'Alternatives to Suspension' strategies and curriculum, including Restorative Practices & TSEL (transformative social emotional learning). • Research topics, events, and newest trends related to mental health, wellness, prevention, intervention, and cessation. • Facilitate surveys and focus groups to collect data and improve programs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Must be attending a college in California and be working towards an associate or bachelor level degree during the entire duration of the Internship.

Must be currently enrolled and participating in one of the following degree programs eligible for the Wellness Coach Certification: • Social Work • Human Services • Addiction Studies • Child Development/Early Intervention • Psychology • Sociology Have a GPA of 2.0 or greater for most recent academic performance. Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or greater, until program completion. This internship will be in-person at 313 West Winton Ave, Hayward, CA 94544.

Experience: One full year of experience as an Alameda County Office of Education Youth Advisory Board member, or other youth-led and youth-centered advisory board/council. APPLICATION DEADLINE: Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 11:59 PM APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
