School Groundskeeper

Position Summary Details

Groundskeepers to assist with the exterior landscaping for a School District. The successful candidate will be expected to keep all lawns, trees and bushes in their proper place and to ensure that all spaces are well maintained.

Essential Functions

• Maintains property grounds

• Mowing, string-trimming, edging, tree removal/trimming, leaf blowing, mulch install/removal, plant install/removal, leaf removal, pesticide application, maintaining equipment regularly.

• Maintain the appearance of the grounds to keep patrons, clients satisfied.

• Maintain the external appearance of all school areas to include any and all buildings at the assigned locations.

• Ensure that all areas are ready for any event at any time.

• Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.

• Have knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to groundskeeping.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the daily/weekly/monthly walk-through of customer facilities in support of data center and office operations

• Performs preventive maintenance on all building equipment

• Assists, as necessary, with scheduling of preventative maintenance, contracted maintenance, and general maintenance with minimal disruption of building services

• Responds quickly to emergency situations and customer concerns

• Ensures Critical Facilities Technician, Contract Manager and/or Customer receives timely verbal and written operating reports that give him/her a clear understanding of the condition of the building's critical systems and the present level of ongoing preventative maintenance

• Escorts subcontractors as required

• Has knowledge of warehouse/inventory management principles and best practices

• Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Is able to prioritize projects and has strong problem-solving skills

• Has good research skills and is highly organized, with strong attention to detail

• Is able to work independently

• Is able to speak, read, and write English

Qualifications

• One year of similar experience preferred.

• Must be 18 years of age or older
