VIEW JOBS 1/26/2022 12:00:00 AM 2022-04-26T00:00 Job Description The Michigan School for the Deaf provides a Bilingual (American Sign Language/English), residential and educational program and services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This position educates children and provides direct classroom instruction. This includes, but not limited to, planning the instructional program according to students' individualized education program, developing goals and objectives, evaluating student achievement, and developing and implementing student behavior intervention plans. Middle School Teacher Required Education and Experience Education Possession of a bachelor's degree in special education or a field of K-12 education. Experience No specific type or amount is required. Alternate Education and Experience The education and experience indicated above isstronglyperferred. Additional Requirements and Information Possession of current Michigan teaching certificate (or equivalent) with an endorsement in hearing impairment. The Department of Education will not hire and employ individuals who have been convicted of a "listed offense" pursuant to the School Safety Legislation Acts (Public Acts 129, 130, 131, and 138 of 2005). The "listed offenses" are defined in the Sex Offenders Registration Act (Section 2 of Public Act 295 of 1994).Fingerprint records are required prior to being hired.
